Welcome Home Baskets Help a homeless individual or family make the transition to their own apartment by making a “Welcome Home” Basket filled with new household items that are needed to get settled in a new home. This is a perfect community service project for faith groups, corporate community service teams, alumni groups, student groups, etc. Make one or several. List of Items for Welcome Home Baskets: 

Gift Cards to CVS, Target, Shaw's, Stop & Shop, or Wal-Mart; small appliances/electronics: microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, alarm clock, CD player, small TV; bed linens (twin or full), pillows, shower curtain, towels, cleaning products, broom, mop/bucket, dish soap, sponges, dishes, flatware, pans, cooking utensils, oven mits, can opener; Charlie Cards

 

*Due to storage and transportation limitations, HomeStart unfortunately does not accept furniture donations. If you have furniture that you would like to donate, please contact the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless Furniture Bank in Lynn , MA .
