Receptionist, extended commitment

A wonderful opportunity for you to help end homelessness by providing front desk reception to greet clients, answer the phone, notify advocates of their appointments and assist the Office Manager with light administrative tasks.

  • Skills Needed:
    Great communication skills and personable demeanor
  • Female Volunteers at Winter WalkTime: Seeking minimum of 4-5 hours per week between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday

Direct Service Support

We are looking for volunteers to be a part of our recently launched Frontline Volunteer Project that helps support the homeless services work that HomeStart does.  Volunteers have the opportunity to get involved in a number of different activities that would help HomeStart carry out its mission to end homelessness.

  • Available Hours: A minimum of 2 hours per week Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm
  • Location: Boston office - 105 Chauncy St., Suite 502 Boston, MA 02111
  • Job description: Meet with clients who walk into the office with a variety of housing questions; Help fill out applications with homeless or at-risk clients and direct them to potential resources; Make calls and conduct research to build the resources we can provide clients.

This volunteer opportunity would give you the chance to directly serve and support those in our Greater Boston community who are most in need.  Adequate training and support are provided and further collaboration with the HomeStart team is encouraged.
